A company called SonRise Studios has released an iPhone app for the “Conflict of the Ages” series written by Ellen G. White, including the full books Patriarchs and Prophets, Prophets and Kings, The Desire of Ages, Acts of the Apostles, and The Great Controversy.

Current features include:
- Bookmarking
- Notes
- Boolean searching
- Chapter jumping
- History (see what you’ve read lately)
- Cut, copy, paste
It currently sells for 99¢, and the developers claim the contents are officially licensed from the Ellen G. White Estate.

Hello.
I am the developer for this Application. We are excited about putting this application out to the masses. We are hard at work and will soon release an update that will enable a lot of features. You can go to our website, and follow us to facebook, or twitter. for updates. I will be at ASI if any you are there. I however will not have a booth this year. But inquiring minds can find me at or near Dr Neil Nedley’s booth.
As a side note, we are hard at work at releasing the COMPLETE Ellen White Collection for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We are waiting till we have added a few more select features before that release.
Thanks have a great day and God Bless =)
Great app – just a quick comment: the word “testament” is spelled incorrectly in the menu.
Any news on how soon the complete Ellen White Collection for iPhone/iPod Touch will be released? Also, is it a free upgrade for owners of this current app or what are costs (upgrade vs. first time download)?
I’m anxious to have it in my purse daily.
Thanks!
~Lora
(also … would happily be a tester if they’re needed for early release of this upgraded app!)
Lora,
If you don’t get a reply (the Michael who is the developer is not me, the one who runs this blog), you may want to visit the developer’s website at http://www.sonrise-studios.com/
Unfortunately, development seems to have stalled. There has not been an update since last July 2009, not even to correct a couple typos in the Library menu which look kinda bad.
I would suggest trying the PocketBible collection, which has 100+ of EGW’s books. See link below.
Michael
It would be better to have an option where you can make the fonts bigger, for a person who has trouble seeing small print its kind of hard to see. Other wise the App is great
Hey Dave.
Yes, we are about to release a new version with some cool features. One of them is complete text manipulation. Change the size, type, margins, paragraph spacing, and a host of other text customizing options. There are some other features that will also be introduced in this next version as well
One such feature, that I would like to get into this update is a backup feature, that will store your bookmarks highlights, and such for easy retrieval in the event of lost, or broken or wiped phone. or touch. We’ll see =)
Thanks for your comments.
God Bless =)
Michael
How about Palm Pre?
Hi Michael,
Just wondering whether you know of a similar program (conflict of the ages series) for a mac desktop or laptop computer?
Thank you
Kind regards
Clara
Hi Clara,
There is a Mac version of the full published writings on EGW that is now in beta. Please see this other thread for details:
http://michaelprewitt.com/2009.....fast-1177/
(The details are in the comments section.)
Great app, great price, it is nice to have it handy on my device. Just requesting the ability to highlight only my preferred phrase and not the whole paragraph
Will you be releaseing this app for the palm pre?
Laridian has apps for Palm and Windows Mobile, among others. I haven’t tried them, but I’m guessing the newly released EGW library for iPhone will work with them too (it is also based on Laridian’s software). I would contact the EGW Estate for confirmation.
I would like to see this publication for Microsoft Reader. Perhaps a bit archaic, but that is what I use. I have most all the Ellen G White books, but not this one. Is that possible?
Thanks
Robert
[...] iPhone and iPod touch that features Ellen White’s writings, called PocketBible. Unlike the Conflict of the Ages app I reviewed some time ago, this one contains all of the books (or at least the major ones) [...]
Another app has been released which has a more complete collection of Ellen White’s writings. It’s called PocketBible. You can find a review of it here: http://michaelprewitt.com/2010.....ouch-1797/
Really want the complete works for my MacBook. Saw online that there is a beta somewhere. Know anything about this? And when and where it will be available?
Hi Christy,
There is no official word yet on the final release of the EGW disc for Mac. If you want to get in on the beta program, please contact the White Estate. However, I am not sure they are accepting more beta testers at this time.
