Camp Meeting

We had a good camp meeting at 3ABN this year. The featured speakers were Ken Cox and Wintley Phipps. Both gave excellent, timely messages that were encouraging to everyone attending. The audience response was enthusiastic. We also enjoyed some heart-warming testimonies.

It was also a blessing to see friends visiting from long distances. We had a small reunion of Claus, Greg and Jill, Valerie, Becky, Lynn and Florinel, and myself, all having known each other since college. Several of the girls were roommates together. It’s interesting, the connections that last over the years.

Adam and Gabriela’s Wedding

On May 20, Adam and Gabriela were married. Adam came to this area last November to work in my department at 3ABN as a graphic designer. He’s a real nice guy: spiritual, kind, dedicated, professional. His wife is really sweet. Their wedding was simple but very touching. You could tell they took their vows very seriously, and earnestly wanted God’s blessing on their life together.

Congratulations, Adam and Gabriela! May you have a happy future and a wonderful adventure serving God as husband and wife.

Adam awaits Gabriela’s arrival before the wedding shower.

Two special guests that came to the wedding were Valerie and Linda Crosier. Valerie is a longtime friend of mine from college, and was instrumental in Adam’s coming to 3ABN. Linda has been a mom to me, as well as being the mother of two of my most loyal friends, Valerie and her sister Nicole.

This was their first time to 3ABN, and I enjoyed showing them around.

Thompsonville

One of my coworker friends, Connie, gave me copies of some photos she took. The pictures reminded me that I haven’t really posted anything about my hometown. Some here, for your viewing pleasure, is Thompsonville, Illinois:

Our water tower, gas station and convenience store (we have only one), and police department:

I guess two pictures say only so much. I may post more later. But, amazingly enough, on the edge of this little country town is one of the largest Christian broadcasting networks in the world, where I work. (Frustratingly, even with all the T1 lines coming into my company, we still can’t get DSL internet in Thompsonville.)

Ten Commandments Weekend Taxi Ads

If you were in downtown Chicago in the last two weeks, you may have seen 3ABN ads for Ten Commandments Weekend. We had them on the tops of taxis and on the backs of buses. The photo below shows what the taxi ads looked like.

These were created by my department, and were primarily the design work of my assistant, Kenton.
